Poem for 11 South

Poem for 11 South

I tale of some wonder I’d like here to recount
Of how you delivered the care and attention.
To Eileen and I over the last couple of years
An amazing life change that sure needs a mention

My blood group was asked for
And information was gained.
‘We’ll give you some tests and
some time’ you explained

Well I couldn’t believe the process i went through
the ‘fast tracking’ at every hospital queue
The ‘best MOT you’ll every receive’
And a perfect match you all did achieve

All of you knew while i was waiting
The donating of a kidney would be such a gift
The quality of life, the health of the patient,
The mood and energy would all get a lift

I felt like a King from I started this journey
The attention to detail the whole way along
Left my family and I knowing you’d be
Allowing me to help my sister , worry free

I checked into 11 in the middle of July
Happy and content all was ok
To go through this operation
And leave Eileen in a better way

Military precision mixed with tender loving care

The difference you made to both of our lives
